Backstory

Maaya began as a laboratory creation and was abandoned before she could understand where she belonged. Her skeletal body, pink hair and cyan third eye make her unmistakable, but her story is not about being a monster.

It is about curiosity surviving rejection. Shizuka—the quiet horned nurse who names Maaya—connects her origin to the wider vampire storyline.
